The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Baranya County was established on the 25th of October 2005 as an economic, employer's representative confederation of economic companies in Baranya County and the South-Transdanubia region. The Organization's mission is mediating and representing its member's interest both inside and outside the country. Bearing in mind the importance of the regionalism, the 3 local organizations merged into one - leaded by the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Baranya County -, creating the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in the South-Transdanubia Region (MGYDDRSZ) in 2007. As a body with regional responsibility, the confederation is more capable to fulfil its goals: To represent the corporate enterprises interest in the region, to strengthen the economic cooperation between the counties in the Region (Baranya, Somogy, Tolna), to invigorate the cultural life in the region, and to back up charitable, social and healthcare activities in the region.

Currently there are 15 Corporate Enterprises inside the confederation, which are the largest companies in the region with the most employees. One of the confederation's main goals is to create the widest possible membership inside the region in order to provide professional and genuine, information based mediation for them. The goals of MGyDDRSZ is to carry out activities which not only serve and observe the interests of members in Baranya, Somogy and Tolna Counties, but due to the wide membership it also boosts the region's economic and the social development.

Joining MgyDDRSZ is voluntary. The confederation is independent from political parties and movements, but it seeks cooperation with them. Through its functions of mediating and representing the members' interests, the Confederation helps: the regional entrepreneurs to join the national macroeconomic processes, the region to be in a more favourable economic position, the cooperation between regions both inside and outside Hungary. It wishes to influence the legislation and the implementing powers to strengthen the ascendancy of the economy to the political decisions. It works together with its' partners, mainly with employee interests groups and the concerned governments. While the members of MgyDDRSZ are the most powerful and most influential economic actors, it is representing a huge lobby power and has up-to-date economic information.

The confederation helps economic actors in the region with consultancy, training programs, which also boosts the region's economic development. MgyDDRSZ forms its advisory activity in the need of its members and the region's other economic actors (i.e. SME's). In frame of this the MgyDDRSZ helps entrepreneurs in the South-Transdanubia region with tender advisory for calling down EU funds, in projects generation and also heads the regions R&D and innovation capacity with cooperation of the University of Pécs.

MgyDDRSZ is the member of the South Regional Development Counsel, whose goal is to serve the corporate enterprises' interests in the allocation of EU funds in the region. With this they want to contribute to the industrial and productive sector to achieve a greater market penetration in the region which increases the rate of employment and the economic development of the region.

MGyDDRSZ also plays a leading role in conducting cross border relationships. The cross border cooperating role of course is not limited with the members, but also contains these companies' suppliers and other SME's.
